New Updates/Patches

Mar 16, 2012 at 2:01 PM

I'll start posting my updates to this discussion as I make changes.

Version 01.01.07:
Download 11780

Added an IE hack. Sometimes (most times) even with a custom image height/width set, IE would display the images in their full size. Ended up that it wasn't following the CSS rules of the module. Hack adds a style line for the images for IE browsers.

Version 01.02.07:
Download:  11781

DNN version 6 or higher required.

Added DNN panels for the Cycle Carousel options. Instead of being listed fully on one page, there are collapsible, grouped options.

NOTE:  There are now two different version number schemes:

The 01.01.xx version line is for DNN versions 05.06.04 and above.
The 01.02.xx version line is for DNN version 06.00.00 and above.

So for example, if/when 01.02.08 is released, version 01.01.08 will be released as well to reflect the new changes and additions.

Thanks for the program. I have some suggestion about the JQuery Cycle Carousel for DotNetNuke: If there is no internet, the module will be stopped.

1. Can you download jquery.cycle.all.min.js, and put that file in js folder.

2. Modify a javascript url in the Carousel.ascx to <script type="text/javascript" src="<%=ResolveUrl("~/DesktopModules/Olsmar_Konsult/Carousel/js/jquery.cycle.all.min.js")%>"></script>

3. Modify a javascript url in the Settings.ascx to <script src="<%=ResolveUrl("~/DesktopModules/Olsmar_Konsult/Carousel/js/iColorPicker.js")%>" type="text/javascript"></script>

Thanks,

Tinboen

Is it possible that there is a bug in the latest patch?Version 01.02.07
If i view the module in Firefox i have 13 pictures, but in IE i have 26 pictures. The pictures are shown twice in IE.

We need this patch because somethimes one of the pictures is minimized to 29px and our customer is complaining about this behavior.

Thanks for replying.

Do you have a URL of where the rotating images are being used?  I'd like to see the code and why IE is doubling your images.

Also, I've noticed that if you set an image width and not a height, the pictures are sometimes minimized in some browsers; odd I know.  See if setting a image height will help.  One quick way is that if all the images are all same resolution and open one of them in something such-as Gimp.  Then just in testing, set the image width to get the scaled image height.

For e.g., 640x480 are the standard resolution of the images.  But you want them viewed at a width of 320, set the image width to 320 in Gimp and the image height should be 240.  This is what you'd put in the setting of the carousel.  Let me know if this works..

i hope you can visit this url: http://mst.dev.cantillana.com/Portfolio/ThomasDeBruynesept2012.aspx This is the development site where the issue with duplicate images is visible.

http://www.stadsbadermarie.com/Portfolio/Project1.aspx is the site with the picture size problem.

This afternoon i will check your suggestion.

Thanks for helping.

Have a nice day.

From what I see on the http://www.stadsbadermarie.com/Portfolio/Project1.aspx page, you have some pictures which are 500x333 (WxH) and then other images which are 333x500 (WxH).  Because they're both different widths, the image rotator is doing just want it's being told; setting either the image width to 500 or it's height to 500 (you have the image div set to 500x500).  This in turns makes it look like the images aren't the same size, changing shape, etc.  If the clients don't like this, then I'd keep just the 500 width images or make all of them 500 width and go from there.

The other URL link doesn't come up for me, so I wasn't able to test.

Hope this helps..
